彗星の巣“オールトの雲”は銀河と同じ渦巻き状と判明

太陽系には、海王星の外に冥王星を含む小惑星の集り「カイパー・ベルト (Kuiper Belt)」があることは知られている。その外側、太陽系の引力の限界域には、無数の氷塊の集団「オールトの雲(Oort Cloud)」がある。スーパー・コンピューターを使った研究で「オールトの雲の内側領域は銀河と同じような渦巻き状であることが判った。
(Beyond Neptune, a crowd of small planets like Uranus in the Kuiper Belt, are well known in public. Farther out, 1,000 AU through 100,000 AU, exist the Oort Cloud, outermost boundary of the Solar System. The region is believed to hold countless icy objects. According to a recent study, the icy objects sits on surprising spiral pattern, similar to the Milky Way, in the inner Oort Cloud.)

防衛省、“イージスシステム搭載艦(ASEV)”の建造を急ぐ

防衛省は2024年12月に公表した2025年度予算案で、イージス・システム搭載艦(ASEV=Aegis System Equipped Vessel)の建造に関わる費用として865億円を計上した。これにより2027年度および2028年度に各1隻ずつの取得が確実になった。

令和7年２月の我が国周辺における中露両軍の活動は前年末までの状況に戻る。これに対し我国および同盟諸国は、警戒を緩めることなく抑止力強化に努めている。

ブーム、実証機XB-1の飛行試験を完了、オーバーチャー実現へ

ブーム・スーパーソニック社の超音速実証機XB-1は2月10日、カリフォルニア州南部モハベ航空宇宙基地から離陸、最後となる13回目の飛行試験を行い、超音速飛行を３回実施した。この成功を受けて同社は、今後超音速旅客機オーバーチェアの開発に注力することになる。
(Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 jet broke the sound barrier three times during its 13th and final test flight, lifted off February 10 from the Mojave Air & Space Port in southern California. Boom will now shift to the development of Overture supersonic passenger transport.)

「ひびき」型音響測定艦、４番艦「びんご」が進水

三菱重工子会社[三菱重工マリタイムシステムズ]は、海上自衛隊向けに同社玉野工場で建造中だった音響測定艦「ひびき」型４番艦「びんご」の進水式および命名式を2025年2月17日に行なった。「びんご」とは瀬戸内海の「備後灘」に由来する名称。これから船体、エンジン、電装システムなどの艤装工事を済ませ、2025年度内に防衛省に引き渡す。
（Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Maritime Systems, a subsidiary of MHI, has held a Launching and naming ceremony for the fourth Hibiki-class ocean surveillance ship build for the Japanese Navy. The ceremony was held on February 17, 2025, at Tamano Shipyard. The ship was named Bingo, derived from a maritime district of “Bingo-nada”. After outfitting work on the hull, engine, electrical systems, is completed, the vessel will be handed over to Japan’s Navy.）

米海軍、レーザー兵器[HELIOS/ヘリオス]発射映像を公開

現在西太平洋で任務についている米海軍ミサイル駆逐艦が標的のドローンに向けてレーザー・ウエポン[ヘリオス (HELIOS)]no発射写真が公開された。駆逐艦「プレブル(USS Preble/ DDG-88)」に搭載されたこのレーザー・ウエポンの発射試験は、2024年9月30日までに32回行われたが、写真はそのうちの１つ。
(A U.S. Navy’s destroyer, currently deployed in the Western Pacific, was firing its laser beam at a drone target. The destroyer, USS Preble DDG-88, armed with a modern laser weapon, conducted firing test 34 times in last year. The picture above is one of the test.)

本稿は木村良一氏の寄稿です。SNSを使った偽情報の拡散が後を絶たない。匿名で特定の個人を攻撃する誹謗中傷もなくならない。広告収入目当てのデマの投稿も多い。ソーシャル・ネットワーキング・サービスの略がこのSNSで、フェイスブック、X(旧ツイッター)、ライン、ユーチューブ、インスタグラム、ティックトックなどをひっくるめて指す。いまに始まったことではないが、SNSの持つ負の側面が相手を深く傷付け、自殺に追い込むなど大きな社会問題となっている。

スターシップ7打上げ、ブースターは回収成功、スターシップは爆発喪失

スターシップの７回目の飛行試験は2025年1月16日に行われ、前回と同じ地球周回軌道に乗せ飛行する予定だった。スーパーヘビー・ブースター(B14)は前回に続き帰還・回収に成功した。しかし、上段のスターシップ(S33)は、エンジンを点火正常に分離し、軌道に向け上昇を続けたが爆発した。
(Starship Flight Test 7 was the seventh Starship test flight, was launched at January 16th, 2025 and tried another suborbital fight as the previous one. It became the second successful catch of a Super Heavy Booster(B14). The upper stage Starship (S33) hotstaged as normal and separated, continued to climb to orbit, however, then exploded.)
