政府の「内閣衛星情報センター」とJAXAは、11月29日に光学偵察衛星・レーダー偵察衛星からのデーターを中継・送信する軍事衛星を打上げた。この新衛星は、2017年に役目を終えたデータ中継試験衛星(DRTS=Data Relay Test Satellite)と交代するもの。新衛星は、「光データ中継衛星」と呼ばれ高速「光衛星間通信システム(LUCAS=Laser Utilizing Communication System)」を搭載している。(Japan launched a military communications satellite on November 29, 2020, that will relay data collected by optical and radar-imaging reconnaissance satellites.
