令和2年9月、我国周辺における中露両軍の活動と、それに対応する我国自衛隊および同盟諸国軍の動きに関し、各國関係部門から多くの発表があった。以下のその項目と内容を列記する。（On September 2020 period, there are many military exercises and threats in the Indo-Pacific region by Chinese and Russian Forces, enforcing there political issues to Japan and allied nations. Matching to the enforcements, U.S.-Japan allied forces have proceeded counter measures in the region.）

９月２５日には菅義偉内閣が発足して初の専門家による分科会が開かれ、田村憲久・厚労相が「秋冬にかけてインフルエンザとの同時流行が心配されている。検査できる体制を都道府県にお願いして整備する」と話していた。新聞の社説やテレビの解説番組も同時流行を心配する。たとえば９月２２日付の読売新聞の社説は「インフルの季節 コロナとの同時流行に備えよ」というタイトルで同時流行を心配する記事を掲載している。。
エアバスは、2035年の就航を目指して液体水素燃料エンジンを搭載する次世代民間旅客機構想をまとめ、このほど３機種の案を公表した(21 September 2020)。すなわち、リージョナル・ターボプロップ、A320サイズの狭胴型機、および、その後の案として提出された翼・胴一体型機(BWB=blended wing body)である。(Airbus has revealed three concepts for the world first zero-emission commercial aircraft, could enter service by 2035. 中国は9月15日火曜日早朝、山東半島沖の黄海で海上移動可能な発射台船から２度目となる長征11型固体燃料ロケットの発射に成功した。(China conducted its second seaborne space launch early Tuesday (15th of September) morning, a Long March-11 solid propellant rocket lifting from a mobile floating platform in the Yellow Sea off the coast of Shandong Peninsula.)
ナンシー・グレース・ローマン宇宙望遠鏡(Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope)の直径2.4 mの主鏡が完成した。この主鏡は、地球近くの星々から遥か遠くの銀河の微弱な光までを集めることができる。ローマン望遠鏡は、ハブル宇宙望遠鏡が一度に観測できる面積の100倍の広い範囲を一度に観測できる。(NASA announced, The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope’s primary mirror, 2.4 meter diameter, which collect and focus light from cosmic objects near and far, has been completed. Roman telescope will capture wide field of space view as 100 times greater than Hubble images.)
ボーイングは9月8日、チャールストン工場で製造する787機の後部胴体・尾翼取付け部付近で品質管理上の問題が発生した、と発表した。また、飛行停止が長引く737 MAXの確定受注機の減少が今年8月までに1,000機になったと報じた。(Boeing disclosed on September 8th, a new manufacturing quality issue on 787 airliner’s after fuselage section. The problems came after latest internal investigation, disclosed quality control problems at Charleston Plant, South Carolina. Boeing also released the order backlog for the 737 MAX has been reduced this year by almost 1,000 airplane.)
北方４島の返還を要求する我が国に対し、「領土割譲を禁ずる」憲法改正を行って明確な拒否の意思を示し、去る9月3日に第二次大戦戦勝記念日祝典を行なったロシアは、近年ますます空軍力の強化に力を注いでいる。本稿では、近着のエビエーションウイーク・ネットワークに掲載されたロシア空軍に詳しい軍事専門家ピョートル・ブトースキー(Piotr Butowski)氏の記事を中心に紹介する。

本稿は木村良一氏の寄稿です。日本プレスセンタービル（東京・内幸町）１０階のレストランで、ビールとワインを飲んだ。８月初旬のことで、長い梅雨がやっと明け、眼下の日比谷公園の木々が真夏の陽ざしを浴びて緑色に輝いていた。窓際のテーブルに男女２人の姿を見つけた。向かい合ってではなく、並んで座っている。再び目をやると、2人とも顔に透明なフェイスシールドを着けて料理を食べていた。どうして食事中にあんなものを着用するのか。フェイスシールドは病院で医師や看護師が感染から身を守るためのものだ。フェイスシールドを着けるぐらい相手の飛沫（唾液や鼻水のしぶき）が気になるというなら、最初から会食などしない方がいいと思う。
令和２年8月、我が国周辺における中露両軍の活動に関し、統合幕僚監部発表の3件を含み、陸・海・空各自衛隊幕僚監部、および付随してロシア国防軍、中国軍、米軍から多くの発表があった。注目すべきは、月末に中国ロケット軍が南シナ海に向け弾道ミサイル４発を発射した件である。(According to the Japan’s Defense Ministry, Russ & Chinese Military movements around Japanese Islands have been increasing ever. On August 26, China fired four ballistic missiles into the South China Sea, including DF-21D and DF-26B, one of the most noteworthy event in this region.)
NASAの“火星2020ミッション (Mars 2020 Perseverance rover mission)” の火星探査機「パーセビランス(Perseverance・忍耐、頑張りの意)」は、2020年7月30日に打上げられ火星に向かう軌道上にある。「パーセビランス」はこれまで作られた中で最も精巧なローバー(rover)/地上走行車で、火星大気圏を飛行するヘリコプター「インジェニュイテー(Ingenuity・工夫の意)」を携行し、目的地「ジェゼロ・クレーター(Jezero Crater)」に着陸、半年間（火星時間）地上を走行し調査をする。(NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover mission was launched on July 30, 2020. The most sophisticated rover ever build, with the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter traveling with it, will search millions of kilometer over the next six months to Jesero Crater.)
