ユナイテッド航空のボーイング737 MAX大量発注で生産計画に弾み、同時にエアバスA321neoも発注

ユナイテッド航空は6月29日火曜日に大量の狭胴型機を発注したと発表した。内容はボーイング「737 MAX」200機とエアバス「A321neo」70機の合計270機である。「737 MAX」200機の内訳は「737 MAX10」が150機、「737 MAX 8」が50機。これは航空需要の急速な回復に対応する措置、とユナイテッドは説明している。（Boeing, Airbus and United Airlines announced on June 29 the carrier will expand its 737 orderbook by purchasing an additional 200 737 MAX airplanes, including 150 the MAX 10, and 50 for basic model 737 MAX 8. ボーイングは5月27日水曜日、米国内でワシントン州内の1万人を含む合計12,300人の人員整理を発表したが、同時に737 MAXの生産の再開すると公表した。ボーイング民間航空機部門CEOのスタン・デイール氏は同日の午後従業員を前にして「今日からレントン工場生産ラインの再稼働のための準備を開始する」と言明した。( On May 27th when Boeing announced more than 12,300 jobs cuts in the U.S. including 10,000 of those in Washington State, with push the button on restarting 737 MAX production. ボーイングは1月21日に「現在飛行停止中の737 MAXの飛行再開は、予想から３ヶ月遅れ今年中頃になる」と発表した。飛行停止は今回の発表で15ヶ月以上になる。続けて「737 MAXの顧客、部品供給のサプライヤー、一般の航空機利用客、に多大の迷惑をかけていることをお詫びする」と述べた。(Boeing now projects the 737 MAX won’t get FAA clearance to fly until midyear, about three months further out than previously expected, in a delay that could stretch the plane’s grounding to more than 15 months. Boeing says “We acknowledge and regret the continued difficulties that the grounding of the 737 MAX has presented to our customers, our regulators, our suppliers and the flying public.”)
