ボーイングの発表(2019-10-25)によれば、2度の墜落事故で運航停止が続いている[737 MAX]狭胴型旅客機は、12月にはFAA(米連邦航空局)から飛行再開の認可を受け、来年1月にはESA(欧州航空安全庁)から同様の承認を得て運航を再開する見通しとなった。(Boeing CEO Dennis Mulenburg announced, the grounded 737 MAX after the two deadly crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia, should get approval to return to service before year-end from FAA, and European Agency will follow January.)
米誌によると、CFMが開発中の次世代型Leapエンジンの燃費[SFC]が予定値から5%外れていると云う。噂は以前からあったが、明らかにされたのはこれが初めてだ。737 MAX用のエンジンはCFM Leap-1Bの独占であることから、ボーイングにとって問題は大きい。
