2019年パリ航空ショー開催前日の6月16日夕刻、パリ・エッフェル塔で三菱重工主催のレセプションが開かれた。席上三菱重工会長宮永俊一氏から、開発が最終段階に入ってきた次世代型リージョナル機「三菱MRJ」の名称を「三菱スペースジェット(MSJ= Mitsubishi Space Jet)」に改め、事業化に乗り出す段階に入ったと発表があった。(At June 16, 2019, the day before opening day of Paris Airshow, the top official of Mitsubishi announced, that the long delayed development program called [MRJ] is now changed to [Mitsubishi SpaceJet], and concluded a treaty with Bombadier to buy its CRJ program including its support bases, but not production.)
6月も中露両軍は我が国周辺で相変わらず活発な動きを見せている。注目すべきは、10日空母「遼寧」をを含む中国艦隊が東シナ海から宮古海峡を通過、太平洋に進出した件、20日にロシア空軍戦略爆撃機の２機が我が国領空を侵犯した件の二つ。(According to the Ministry of Defense, Chinese and Russian Forces movements around the Japanese Islands were kept high during June, 2019. Nine events were reported, including the Chinese Aircraft Carrier Group pass through Miyako-strait and Russian Tu-95 Bombers flew over our territorial airspace. )
エアバスはパリ航空ショーの初日に、長らく期待されていたA321XLRの開発を発表した。A321XLRは、狭胴型機最大の航続距離8,700 kmで、座席当りの燃費は現用機より30％以上少ない。ボーイングが検討中の新中型機NMAより2年早く就航す(Airbus launched the long-expected A321XLR on the opening day of the Paris Air Show. The A321XLR is the single-aisle jetliner offer as next step for the A321neo family. It will offer more range up to 8,700 km, 30 % lower fuel burn per seat than Boeing 757. )
エアバスは今年のパリ航空ショーで創立50周年となる。1969年のパリ航空ショーで、フランス・ドイツ両国政府が双発広胴型機A300を共同開発する協定に署名したのを創立としている。企業規模は民間機部門でボーイングに匹敵するまでに成長し、これまでに2万機を受注、1万2000機が使われている。(At the Paris Air Show 2019, Airbus celebrate 50thanniversary, since starting 1969 at the Air Show when France and German Government officials signed up to develop twin-engine widebody aircraft A300. アメリカの創業間もないベンチャー企業が、5人乗りの電動垂直離着陸機(eVTOL) の製作を進めている。このeVTOLはバッテリーやハイブリッド電動ではなく、水素を使う燃料電池を動力源にしている。5人を乗せて航続時間は4時間、400 miles(640 km)・ほぼ東京―大阪間に相当、の飛行ができる。(A U.S. venture is making a full-scale five-seat electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing(e-VTOL) aircraft that is powered not by batteries or hybrid-electlic propulsion, but by hydrogen fuel cells. ロッキード・マーチンは4月10日にコロラド スプリングス(Colorado Springs, Colorado)で開かれた第35回宇宙シンポジューム(35th Space Symposium) で「”ゲートウエイ(Gateway)“宇宙基地と”オライオン(Orion)” 宇宙船で2024年までに月の南極付近に有人着陸」する構想を発表した。そして実現するには、直ちに関連機器の製造を始める必要がある、と述べた。（Lockheed Martin says it has developed an approach to achieving the goal of landing humans on the south pole of the moon by 2024, but warns that construction of essential hardware would have to start soon to meet that deadline.）
平成31年4月における我が国周辺での中露両軍の活動は依然変わらず、高い水準で推移している。防衛省統合幕僚監部が特異な事象として公表したのは次の9件だが、4月1日から同3日までの3件は先月に紹介済み、ここでは4月5日から同29日までの6件について述べる。(According to the Ministry of Defense Joint Staff Japan, Chinese and Russian Forces movements around the Japanese Islands were kept high as usual during April of 2019. Nine notable events were reported. including the cruising flight around Taiwan with H-6K bombers and others on April 15.)
NASAのハブル宇宙望遠鏡は打上げ後29周年を迎えたが、最近撮影した美しい“南の蟹(かに)星雲”の写真を記念として公開した。星雲は[Hen 2-104]と呼ばれ、地球の南半球から数千光年離れたケンタウルス座(Constellation of Centaurus)の方向にある。(In celebration of the 29thanniversary of the launch of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, astronomers captured this festive, colorful look at the southern Crab Nebula. The nebula, officially named as Hen 2-104, is located several thousand light-years from Earth in the southern hemisphere constellation of Centaurus.)
