防衛省は令和２年度予算要求で、次期戦闘機の開発開始の承認を求めている。承認されれば、国際協力で開発を進め、2030年代から配備を開始したい考え。これまで「将来戦闘機」と呼んでいたが、令和2年度予算案では「次期戦闘機」と呼称を改め、開発への第一歩を踏み出した。(The Japanese defense ministry has published a new design for the country’s next fighter, suggesting an even greater emphasis on range and payload the before)
外誌の予測では2020 – 2029年における世界のビジネス機の売上高は2,000億ドルを超え、大半は北米地区が占める。北米では2020年には392機が引き渡される予定。2029年末までの売上げ機数の合計の62 %は、上位5機種で占める。(Taken from Aviation Week’s 2020 Fleet & MRO Forecast, business aircraft deliveries between 2020 – 2029 will reach a retail value of over $200 billion, with the highest retail values expected in North America. 令和元年11月、我国周辺での中露両軍の活動は、先月に比べ減ってはいるものの続いている。防衛省統合幕僚監部が特異事象として公表したのは次の4件。これとは別に、注目すべきニュースが２件あったので追加する。すなわち、11月17日に中國海軍の新造空母が台湾海峡を通過・南シナ海に向け航行した件、もう一件は、11月11日〜21日、日本周辺の海域で日本、米国、オーストラリア、カナダ4カ国の海軍によって行われた合同演習[ANNUALEX 2019]である。
シアトル・タイムス2019年11月27日紙上で、著名なエアロスペース・リポーターのドミニク・ゲイツ(Dominic Gates)氏が明らかにしたところによると、ボーイングが開発中の大型広胴型機777Xで、機体構造の強度を確認するために高荷重を掛けて耐久試験を行っていたところ、胴体が破断したと報じた。(According the Seattle Times dated Nov. 27, 2019 by Dominic Gates. Says Boeing got a jolt in September when they put the new 777X airframe through an extreme load test of its structural strength. When the test approached its target stress level, an explosive tore through its fuselage.)
2019年のドバイ・エアショーは11月17-21日に開催された。出展機関は1,280社以上、160機以上の展示機が並び、84,000人以上の航空宇宙関係者が参加し、航空機等の売上契約高は545億ドルに達した。（Dubai Airshow 2019, held Nov. 17-21, was successfully closed. With more than 1,280 exhibitors in attendance, 161 aircraft on the static display. And many of conferences has held with 84,043 trade attendees. Sales were booming, with the order reaching $54.5 billion.）
去る9月14日、サウジアラビアのアブカイク及びフライスの製油施設が、無人機(UAS)の大群(swarm)と低空を飛ぶ巡航ミサイルの一斉攻撃を受け、大損害を受けたことは記憶に新しい。イエメンの革命軍の仕業とされるが、米国、イギリス、フランス、ドイツ、サウジの情報機関は、イランが攻撃したものと確信している。(The Middle East has seen rapid growth in use of armed drone for tactical to strategic attacks .Small, low flight, slow targets are proving new challenge for existing air defense system.)
ボーイングの発表(2019-10-25)によれば、2度の墜落事故で運航停止が続いている[737 MAX]狭胴型旅客機は、12月にはFAA(米連邦航空局)から飛行再開の認可を受け、来年1月にはESA(欧州航空安全庁)から同様の承認を得て運航を再開する見通しとなった。(Boeing CEO Dennis Mulenburg announced, the grounded 737 MAX after the two deadly crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia, should get approval to return to service before year-end from FAA, and European Agency will follow January.)
エビエーション・ウイーク誌はおよそ6年前に空軍が開発中のノースロップ・グラマン製大型無人機を報じた。このステルス無人機は、[RQ-180] 、仮想敵国上空に侵入し「諜報、監視、偵察をするのを任務とする。配備が始まり数を増やしつつある。2010年に初飛行し、2014年末からは運用試験、評価試験が続けられてきた。(Almost six years after Aviation Week reported the existence of a large, classified unmanned air vehicle developed by Northrop Grumman, the aircraft is dubbed the RQ-180, is believed to have been flying since 2010 and under operational test since 2014.)

月有人探査用にNASAが開発中の「オライオン(Orion)」宇宙船に[ESA=European Space Agency / 欧州宇宙機構]が開発する「ヨーロピアン・サービス・モジュール[ESM]」が取付けられる。[ESM] は、「オライオン」宇宙船の一部として、電力、推進動力、水、酸素、エアコンなどの供給を担当、打上げから地球帰還時に切り離されるまで使われる。最初の飛行は後述する「アルテミス1 (Artemis 1)」の予定。( The Orion Service Module is an important component of the Orion spacecraft, serving as its primary power, propulsion, water, oxygen, and right temperature, until it’s discarded at the end of each mission. NASA says the European Space Agency will provide the service module for Artemis 1.)
