本稿は、鳥居徹夫氏の寄稿である。通常国会は、世界的な重大局面となっている中国の新型肺炎(コロナウィルス)問題や、全世代型社会保障制度への改革、消費税増税後の経済政策、自然災害に対する国土強靭化対策、エネルギー安定供給に向けての中東情勢と自衛隊派遣など、本来論議すべき課題は多い。ところが多くの野党は、桜を観る会やカジノ汚職、閣僚辞任などの政府攻撃に終始し、建設的質疑はほとんどなかった。そこへ夫婦別姓に関する自民党の女性議員のツッコミがあり、野党にとっては、賞味期限が過ぎた「桜を観る会」に続く攻撃材料となった。いまや政局優先の野党はもとより国会議員の劣化は、目を覆うばかりである。
ボーイングは1月21日に「現在飛行停止中の737 MAXの飛行再開は、予想から３ヶ月遅れ今年中頃になる」と発表した。飛行停止は今回の発表で15ヶ月以上になる。続けて「737 MAXの顧客、部品供給のサプライヤー、一般の航空機利用客、に多大の迷惑をかけていることをお詫びする」と述べた。(Boeing now projects the 737 MAX won’t get FAA clearance to fly until midyear, about three months further out than previously expected, in a delay that could stretch the plane’s grounding to more than 15 months. LiDARは光を用いたリモートセンシング技術の一つ。パルス状に発光するレーザー照射に対する散乱光を測定し、目標までの距離やその性質を分析する装置。近年自動運転に必須の技術として注目されている。(LiDAR is one of remote-sensing technologies applying optics. 本稿は木村良一氏の寄稿です。この寒さで高齢の男性が持病を悪化させ、風呂場で倒れて意識を失った。救急車が駆け付け、救急隊員が心臓マッサージを実施し、ＡＥＤ（自動体外式除細動器）を使って電気ショックを加える。心肺蘇生だ。その様子を見ていた男性の妻が「気が動転して救急車を呼んでしまいました。手当はもういりません。このまま死なせてやってくれませんか」と話し出した。
