2023年6月20日、パリ航空ショーでブーム・スーパーソニック (Boom Supersonic)社は、超音速旅客機「オーバーチェア (Overture)」の開発は、エンジン「シンフォニー(Symphony)の開発を含めて著しく進捗、と発表した。「オーバーチェア」は現用のジェット旅客機の２倍の速度で飛行し、燃料は100 % 低公害航空燃料(SAF=sustainable aviation fuel)を使う。

第54回パリ航空ショーは、前回コロナの流行で中止された2021年のショーを引継ぎ、パリのル・ブレゲ空港(Paris Le Bourget Airport)で開催された。この航空ショーは1909年から隔年で開催されている。2017年のショーでは世界中から30万人以上が訪れ、1,226機の発注があり、それまでの記録を大きく更新した。
今年は初日（６月19日）にインドのLCCインデイゴ(IndiGo)が、エアバスA320neo系列機500機の発注を発表し、世界を驚かした。

2023年夏の旅行シーズンを前にして、航空各社は需要に対応できないトラブルに見舞われている。運賃は2019年より高くなり座席利用率は上昇し続けている。これらの環境に対応するには飛行機の稼働率を一層上げなくてはならない。しかし、プラット＆ホイットニー(Pratt & Whitney/以下P&W)製エンジン装備のエアバスA220、A320neo系列機、およびエンブラエル(Embraer) E2機では「AOG=Aircraft On the Ground」、つまり“飛べない機体”が増加中で、航空各社は対応に追われている。

本稿は鳥居徹夫氏の論考である。日本の親中派には、中国指導部との関係を強調し、それを誇りとする古くからの活動家に多い。
日本の古い親中派がスパイ容疑で、中国で相次いで逮捕された。逮捕された日中友好関係者は「スパイという身に覚えのない容疑で逮捕」されたという思いから「いかに中国共産党や政府に協力していたか」「いかに党の幹部を多く知っているか」を強調したのではないか。
政敵の多い政権基盤を強化したい習近平一派にとって、日本の日中友好関係者は、政敵の炙り出したい習近平にとって好都合であろう。
日本の親中派は、芋づる式に炙り出す情報源として、最大限に活用できるものと言える。
タイラント(暴君)の習近平は自ら権力志向であり、共産主義のためではなかった。『安倍晋三回顧録』によると、習近平は政治権力を掌握するために共産党に入った強烈なリアリストだと感じた、と述懐していた。

本稿は木村良一氏の寄稿です。コロナの5類移行にともなう規制の緩和とGWのにぎわいで「感染者数は急増する」と予想していたが、結果は大きく違った。拍子抜けの感がある。巷も新型コロナなどどこ吹く風である。しかし、「穏やかな増加」に安心してはならない。感染は拡大しているし、死者も出ている。新型コロナウイルスが消えてなくなったわけではない。
