スペースXの次世代超大型ロケット「スターシップ＋スーパーヘビー」は、11月18日に第２回目の打上げ試験が行われ、宇宙空間まで上昇に成功したが、失敗に終わった。２段目の分離に成功した直後に１段目スーパーヘビーが爆発、そして分離した２段目スターシップも目標の高度に達する前に爆発して終わった。

令和5年10月、我国周辺における中露両軍および北朝鮮の活動と、我国および同盟諸国の動きに関し各方面から多くの発表があった。今月の注目すべきニュースは次の通り。

海自ヘリ空母「いずも」は短距離離陸垂直着陸(STOVL)型ステルス戦闘機「F-35B」を搭載、運用出来るよう改修が進められている。改修工事は2020年3月からジャパン・マリン・ユナイテッド(JMU)横浜事業所磯子工場で行われ、このほど第一次改修を完了、試験航海が終わり、2021年6月25日に横須賀基地に帰還した。(The Izumo-class helicopter carriers are now under modification, providing to operate STOVL Lockheed-Martin F-35B aircraft. The Izumo has accomplished its first work in June and return to service, and scheduled the second and final mod will begin March 2024.)
ユナイテッド航空は6月29日火曜日に大量の狭胴型機を発注したと発表した。内容はボーイング「737 MAX」200機とエアバス「A321neo」70機の合計270機である。「737 MAX」200機の内訳は「737 MAX10」が150機、「737 MAX 8」が50機。これは航空需要の急速な回復に対応する措置、とユナイテッドは説明している。（Boeing, Airbus and United Airlines announced on June 29 the carrier will expand its 737 orderbook by purchasing an additional 200 737 MAX airplanes, including 150 the MAX 10, and 50 for basic model 737 MAX 8. 令和３年６月、我国周辺における中露両軍の活動と、我国および同盟諸国の動きに関し、それぞれの公的部門から多くの発表があった。以下にその項目と内容を紹介する。6月の注目すべきニュースは次の通り；―① 陸上自衛隊と米陸軍が、日本全国で「オリエント・シールド21演習」を実施した。② 陸上自衛隊が、オーストラリア東部のショールウオーター・ベイ演習場で、米・豪・英３ヶ国軍が行う「タスマリン・セイバー21演習」に参加した。③ 航空自衛隊F-15J戦闘機６機が、アラスカで行われる米空軍主催の「レッド・フラグ21-2演習」に参加した。④ 中国陸海軍は、台湾侵攻を模して福建省沿岸で新造の強襲揚陸艦を使い上陸演習を実施した。⑤ ロシア空軍と太平洋艦隊は中部太平洋ハワイ近海で大規模な空母打撃群攻撃演習を実施した。

2, Japan, U.S., Australia and British Armed Forces conduct exercise “Talisman Saver 21” at Shoalwater Bay, Queensland, Australia.
3, U.S. Air Force conducts “Red Flag 21-2” exercise in Alaska in June, Japan has sent six of F-15J jet for joining the Red Flag.
4, Chinese Forces conduct large scale landing exercise at Fukien coastal area, mainland China, simulated assault operation to Taiwanese island.
5, Russian Pacific Fleet and the Air Force conduct a naval battle exercise near Hawaiian Islands, simulating to attack a potential enemy’s Carrier Strike Group..)
2019年にエアバスは増大する受注量に対処すべく生産設備の近代化と拡大に取組み始めた。しかしその後発生したコロナ・ウイルスの世界的な感染拡大で需要は激減、拡張計画は縮小/再検討を余儀なくされた。しかしウイルスの沈静化の傾向を受けて、エアバスは2022年末までにツールース工場に新たな狭胴型機の生産ライン設置する準備を始めた。(In 2019, Airbus had to plan to expand production capability with modernize its infrastructure, particularly at Toulouse site, to accommodate its huge order backlog. Since then, the corona virus pandemic forced Airbus to pause and reconsider the modernization plane. However, the recent to die-down the pandemic and market recovery now in sight, Airbus is resuming work on a new narrowbody final assembly line in Toulouse is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2022.)
哨戒ヘリコプター「SH-60K（能力向上型）」は、防衛装備庁との契約に基づき2015年から三菱重工(MHI)名古屋航空宇宙システム製作所小牧南工場で開発している機体で「SH-60L」と名付けられる。「SH-60L」は2001年8月初飛行の哨戒ヘリコプター「SH-60K」を基本にして、搭載システムや飛行性能などの能力向上した機体で、防衛省への納入は今年度末を予定している。搭載システムでは、新しく「マルチスタテイック・ソナーシステム( multi-static sonar system)」、「適応制御ミリ波超高速通信システム（クリック・システム）」が搭載される。
